VTG DOCUPLATE (VTG) is a manufacturer and supplier of Weatherproof / Tamperproof vehicle and trailer document holders, and is part of Banks Transport Solutions (BTS). With over three decades of experience in the transport industry we are very much aware of the inadequacies of the current format for displaying truck and trailer statutory ministry information (VTG 6).
Many operators have experienced the current document holders’ deficiencies such as ingress of water, light deterioration (which makes documents illegible), loss or stolen documents and difficulties with fitment. Therefore, operators are left with vehicles off the road (VOR) as it is illegal to operate with illegible or missing documentation. This is extremely inconvenient as the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) currently has a back-log of up to four months and charge a considerable fee for replacement documents.
